inhabiting the writer within

i’ve decided i’ll feel a lot more comfortable in pink - something which may amuse my teaching colleagues should they ever find this blog, as i have been entertaining maureen, fi, richard and john with my range of pink striped sneakers all semester.

so much is happening. my research plan has been approved for the next 12months, as has my appointment in general, so hurrah to all that. it would be nice to hear about my phd soon and then i will feel much more reconciled to move on.

finished the final draft of the book proposal today, now compiling my list of publishers to bombard. it is a strange sensation feeling something like a writer for the first time, rather than a student. reading the websites today, the publishers’ solicitations actually apply: ‘are you looking for a publisher?’ ‘we are interested in you!’ is this the first time i’ve ever felt interpellated?
