the last week before craziness

after a weekend of highs and lows (highs: iron on, dollarbar and bluebottle kiss at the zoo–and especially ian’s surprise compilation cd featuring the bites and the autumn giants, yay–long chats during saturday night footy to my ol pal kate in perth, yummy dinners from josh who has finally quit his waiting job and can now play on weekends, getting ready for splendour in the grass next weekend; lows: sydney AND collingwood losing, contracting ellie’s sore throat) i am overjoyed opening my diary this morning to see that the week is full of blank spaces… hopefully lots of time to finish all the projects i set myself for the ‘break’. the world still appears to be against me getting my tax return done so i will move on from this and endeavour to focus my mind on other things, like preparation for the exciting semester ahead and making sure there is a reasonable chance i will get the papers written that i have to deliver to public audiences! next immediate dilemma is working out how to write the early career research grant for my book project. i returned home to phd examination reports and all markers suggested i pursue the work, so now i have to pick their brains a little more to capitalise on all their generous ideas.
oooh and my new ibook is nearly ready for me to use, so expect more blogging from all over the place in future!
