i know, i can't believe it! if i stayed away from all the places in their list i'm not sure i'd ever leave the house. but i'm even more puzzled by the pictures accompanying the scores for the test. gil, as one of my few known US readers, is the girl in the picture someone i should know? jean got drew barrymore, who i'm sure i'm much geekier than. but my picture seems, well, a little bit B grade in the porn sense rather than the coming of age flick sense - tho i admit there ain't much difference, and by asking i may be implying that you are an expert on either of these genres!

This was my score (below - if HTML coding is allowed here - SHEESH !!! I am a geek !!!).

No, I am 10% geek. I spent quite a bit of my late teens getting baked and watching Akira (please note, I lived in Gatton during my late teens) so I think that's what got me across the line.

Those records surveyed were frighteningly bad. I scored a straight run of zeros. And I actually own some pretty bad records. If anyone reading this owns any of those records, you should think about pawning them. Even Weezer, you know Rivers picks up girls online right?

I'm most upset by my designated Arn-nolt avatar. I thought geeks were usually (at least) soft leftists by merit of a lifetime of exclusion.

Marking papers. It smokes. Anyone wanna come round this weekend and get baked and watch Akira?

You are 10% geekOK, so maybe you ain't a geek. You do, at least, show a bit of interest in the world around you. Either that, or you have enough of a sense of humor to pick some of the sillier answers on the test. Regardless, you're probably a pretty nifty, well-rounded person who gets along fine with people and can chat with just about anyone without fear of looking stupid or foolish or overly concerned with minutiae. God, I hate you. Take the Polygeek Quiz at Thudfactor.com

It seems apparent that if you elect to be female for the purposes of the test, the images represent your position on the continuum between geekiness (i.e. obsessive intelligence without charisma) and bimboness (i.e. porno-esque sex appeal and shopping skills without intelligence). In order to maximise the geeky detail as to the results of the test,

can someone please do it as :

a. a geeky female (who would this be? i wanna know. and where would we put gretel killeen in the oz version?)

and

b. a non-geeky male (my money is on a photograph of some football jock and/or keanu reeves)

Q: And where would we put gretel killeen in the oz version?

A: Hell.

PS: Why aren't there any amateur emo-pornographers hanging out here like at my blog?

I could be wrong, but I believe the non-geeky image is Britney Spears.

(And, for the record, I appear to be 61% geeky, which got me a picture of Drew Carey.)

61% ??? that is amazing. do you think that confirms the US centrism of the test, or do you just have a really bad cd collection?! once i receive confirmation from my personal britney advisor, i am going to add this to my blog description: 'mc gregg, britney spears of cultural studies'. it will fit well with comments made in recent public appearances.

and in response to random stranger: because this blog is classy. to wit, no more dissin' gretel. she is a highly competent woman in an unforgiving job. a symbol of our times...
