best quote from the ARIAS

Having just rewritten the unlawful combatant paper with Glen on the weekend (it’s now drawing out the Right-eousness behind Bush administration policy even further) Jet’s antics last night were a welcome intrusion. Receiving what would be one of 6 ARIAS, this is guitarist Cameron Muncey: “I’d like to thank God but I can’t because rock and roll is the devil’s music.”

    whoop whoop!

I call it cyber-hotseat academic writing.

Because we are on different sides of the planet, the article is almost always projected from a screen that has a warm body in front of it. Well not really, but it feels that way sometimes!

    But… dang! What a team!

Jet fans may find this relevant:

Catastrophe:sound @ 610 Ann Street this Friday. All ages, $8

6:30 – 7:00: Happy Christmas (bad techno meets angry children. Yes.)

7:15 – 7:45: Maudlin (laptops and a jazz singer. Sublime stuff, this)

    8:00 – 8:30: The Impromptuions (6 member improv collective.)

8:45 – 9:15: Ben Salter (in glorious solo acoustic mode)

9:30 – 10:00: The Olympic Games (moron children. Or maybe MorMon? Maybe?)

10:15 – 10:45: The Rational Academy (Indie supergroups are the new ‘enjoyable’)

11:00 – 11:30: Death:Wolf! (With fully functional sound, we promise!)

    11:45 – 12:30: Iron-on (c’mon, do they need an introduction?)

12:45 – 1:30: Turnpike (Again, no need to talk them up – the music is enough.)

1:30 – 2:30: Jet (Aria award winning cover band TBC, subject to availability)

Poetry and film screenings, improv music and other funness in the hallway between acts. Also, look out for the MS Paint Art Gallery of Amazingness. Oh wow!

(Please come in and take a look. $8 makes it less than a dollar a band, and we all know Turnpike are easily worth $8 on their own.)
