We haven’t come a long way, with babies

I’ve been meaning to link to Sandy’s account of Wendy Brown’s talk at ASCP, which was so good that it saved me writing up my notes! But when I went back there just now I found some pretty alarming comments had appeared since I first read it. It’s fascinating to me that in a post where Sandy draws attention to the difficulties women face in being recognised as political philosophers, someone can suggest that having a baby in a lecture theatre is ‘political correctness gone mad’. After spending the last few days thinking about how women and men express notions of ‘politics’ differently on blogs, I’m afraid this is the icing on the cake… feeling so very deflated!
