I can't think of a better way to get a particular social formation to collectively articulate their cultural coordinates than to get em to answer questions about their cultural consumption practices. I mean the categories, even more than the responses. Like, we totally don't agree with the war cos it's unjust and stuff, but we also know that going to a sex shop is like, so empowering cos women have their own sexuality now, and it's kind of cool to admit you like "bad" celebrities and trashy TV, but only if you only admit it in order to show you know they're bad, and also get offended by ads sometimes if they're not empowering and stuff.
