Melbourne

Mel & Dexter
I just got back from Melbourne and the launch of TV50 at ACMI. Unfortunately Dexter wasn’t working so I couldn’t get the data on my Perfect Match. However I did learn a lot about cop shows and more than I will ever need to know about Graham Kennedy. I needed a break: final grades are due tomorrow and my rejoinder has to be done by Tuesday. I’m up to draft number 3 for a document that can only be 5000 characters long. Sigh. At least I have some new shirts and a pair of half-price Campers to wear as I slave away in the tower.

  1. The colour of your shirt and dexter’s heart are…a Perfect Match! boom boom.

  2. testing comments for gremlins.

  3. Where was Melvin the word puzzle robot from Now You See It??

  4. I’d so forgotten about Melvin. Damn, and I worked on the Quiz show part of the exhibition also. That would have been an addition. Then again, Melvin was probably little more than a vacuum cleaner with some bits stuck on - he/she’s probably rusted away by now. Dexter wasn’t in particularly good shape, which I believe is one of the reasons the Powerhouse Museum overlooked him. (Actually that last sentence is pure speculation)

  5. I like your touching acknowledgement of the possibility that Melvin might be female. Maybe I could tell people that my name is actually short for Melvin. They always seem to assume it’s Melanie…

  6. Next time, email me for coffee! I may be coming up in a couple of months, anyway. Congrats on the new website, too.

  7. He’s alive! Where’ve you been, Christian?
